The Ministry of Education, Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Government of Japan offers
scholarships to Canadian students who wish to study at Japanese universities.
Undergraduate Students (Currently closed-next 2026 Application cycle
expected to open April 2025)
Research Students (Currently
closed-next 2026 Application cycle expected to open April 2025)
Japanese Studies Currently
closed-next 2026 Application cycle expected to open December 2025)
The scholarship covers:
1. Full tuition
2. Monthly allowance
3. Round-trip flight between
Japan and Canada
